Pyramids in Polynesia: Some Logistics

Who's ready for some honeymoon recaps?

In order to be the most helpful to you, my dear readers, I'll be breaking the posts out into different topics, starting with some details on travel, hotels, and overall setup of our trip.

First up - getting there and getting back.  After looking at flight times and prices from NOLA, I decided that the best option would be to break up the flights a bit.

The day after the wedding, Sunday, we flew from New Orleans to Los Angeles on Southwest Airlines.  Our flight arrived at LAX at 8:00 PM, and we took the shuttle over to the nearby Hilton.  The hotel was super sweet - they upgraded our room to a higher level and included chocolate covered strawberries with our room service order!

New husband, four cheese macaroni, strawberries, and Game of Thrones.
In the morning, we took the shuttle back to LAX and caught our Hawaiian Airlines 8:30 AM flight to Honolulu.

"W" is for Wife!

I did it, hive!  I have successfully changed my last name!

I hadn't spoken about my decision to change my name before, frankly, because I hadn't felt like I had anything new to add to the conversation.  All along, I knew I would take Sphinx's last name as my own, and switch my maiden name to my middle name.  Nothing fancy here.

When we came back from the honeymoon, I started with some easy changes - my Facebook profile and my work email.  I've been signing emails and documents with my maiden + married name since the wedding, to make the transition easier. Sure, there's been a lot of "Now how do you say your new last name?" around the office, since Sphinx's name is pretty rare, but I expected that to happen.

I gave myself a little time to gather up all the right documents and figure out how to go about making it official (this WikiHow page is pretty helpful), and here's a rundown of how I did it:
