Monumental Love: A Few Familiar Activities

Don't get de ja vu - it's more Pyramid formal pictures and transportation today!  But of course these are from after the ceremony and heading back to the reception.  A good bit different, really.

Of course we got a full bridal party one.|All photos by Eau Claire Photographics
As cute as some of these pictures are, I won't make this anything too lengthy.  But while we're at it, I'll just repeat again that I'm glad we were able to knock out most of our pictures before the ceremony because it was a lot less stress.  I had provided my photographer a list of every family grouping that we could have wanted - which was a lot .  I just started scratching groupings out "No, don't worry about that one, we basically got it earlier," as Sandra referenced her sheet and called names out.

Momma P's full side of the family.  It was pretty much my only "must have" after the ceremony.
I didn't eliminate any people from pictures, I just decided in the moment that we didn't need to spend time getting just my mom's siblings, then adding in the spouses, then the full family, and so on and so on.  The full family one was good enough. I'd still recommend the list, but think about keeping it narrowed down, especially if this is after the ceremony.  It's especially helpful if you've got a complex or especially large family, where getting pictures of certain members together (and excluding others) might be very important.

And a cute picture with Pops, who I had that special moment with while walking down the aisle.

I love this photo of me and my grandma - she was so excited when she picked out her dress and I think she looked fab!

And this is a nice picture of the new Sphinx family, but when we decided to gift Sphinx Mom a canvas for Christmas, we ended up choosing one from earlier in the day because it was a bit less stiff.
Best man, bride, groom, maid of honor.

And of course we got a few couples photos as well.  It's probably nothing to every one else, but I can see some tenseness on my face in these because everyone was literally looking just staring at us waiting to leave or be assigned for more poses.

Nice little pose to mix things up.
And then everyone else was kicked out of the church so we could get some photos in the other direction.  I didn't even ask for these, but I like how these turned out.

And then we left the church for real, and headed out to our Rolls Royce.

I love this picture so much.  Sphinx is all "No photos, please, paparazzi!  We're just trying to lead regular lives!"

Our ride back was a nice time alone to absorb those "OMG, we're married!" feelings.  Also, we drove by a building under construction and I got excited that we were finally getting a West Elm. Seriously, it's been long enough, New Orleans!  Oh, but right - back to the newlywed glow.

The parents rode back to the reception in the limo, and the bridal party, photographers, and videographers (and a few extra guests who couldn't grab a taxi - love that we had a vehicle big enough to fit them) rode back on the trolley bus.  We had the police escort on the way back to the reception as well, so we didn't get stuck behind red lights.  On my post about traveling to the venue, I was surprised to find out from your comments that police escorts aren't a big thing in other cities.  Apparently it's just a thing here? And funny enough, the next weekend we were downtown and saw no less than three police escorts and a second line!  A city like no other, I tell ya.

More pictures where I feel like a celebrity.  And Sphinx's face is like "WTF, how long is this train?"

It's okay, dear, it's about to get bustled up.
We met our coordinator outside and she showed us around to the side entrance of the venue, so that we could wait for a little while in the bridal suite before heading out to the reception!  After this - we're in full on party mode, people!
